[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Canada in the 20th Century is a multimedia full high school course which includes assignments, answer keys, rubrics, student samples and more. Assignments and Answer Keys can be accessed at online links in the membership section of the course. Curated online content is available in the membership section to enhance learning.

The course combines film, text, living books, and web resources for rich content. Assignments contain historical and critical thinking skills and can be done offline in Word or with hard copy PDF downloads.

The course schedule includes about 40 minutes per day, 4 days per week for one school year. Students can double up lessons if desired to complete in one semester, or access all the additional resources to stretch into a two-year course. This does not come with an access code for assignments and online resources as the access code is available with the first copy of the course.

There are two extra units, one on government and one on globalization. These units have questions (with answer keys) for textbook reading but no tests or extra content. This is because most provinces require a 20th century Canadian history course primarily. The extra units are required in B.C. Socials 11, but for other provinces this bonus material but not essential.

In Alberta the three socials courses, Socials 10-30, are theme based 20th century Canadian & global content. Our course covers all the themes but not as much global content as is required in the AB courses. It may be possible to use Canada in the 20th Century for both Socials 20-30. There is enough extra material to stretch our course into two credits but you may be required to work through the AB textbook as well. You will need to check with your facilitator. If the course is not allowed as a comparable course for the requirements, you can ask that it be credited as an optional course.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Canada, A People’s History DVDs” tab_id=”1595437923297-340da701-e7a7″][vc_column_text]Canada, A People’s History DVDs are out of print as DVDs but can be accessed through libraries, or through online streaming at Curio Subscribers if your school or library are subscribers. Limited copies of Series 4 are still available, and French versions of Series 3 & 4.
